I attended the Red Moon Herb Southeastern Women’s Conference over the past weekend outside of Asheville, NC. I went with two amazing women that I am lucky enough to call friends, and the entire experience was powerful beyond belief.
The three day retreat was jam packed full of information, mostly about herbs and aromatherapy, but more than that, it was a unique opportunity for over 500 women to bond in a unique and spiritual way.
On Saturday night, we all participated in an Evening Celebration led by ALisa Starkweather. We were visited by several potent archetypes who represented womanhood. The celebration started with all the women facing one another in two lines, forming a tunnel, and then each turning and walking through this tunnel. The power and energy was amazing.
Each of the archetypes presented were powerful in and of themselves, but one in particular moved me to the bottom of my soul. She was the Weeping Wailing Woman. She represented the sorrow and pain that each of us carry as women.
She showed up on the edge of the circle of women, and at first, you only heard this anguished wailing and weeping in the distance. The closer she got, the deeper the pain was, and the more intense her keening became. As I looked around this incredible group of women,

The Ego The egoic mind is when you are completely identified with the voice in your head. It is conditioned by the past, and it is repetitive and persistent. The ego is an entity which strives to maintain its existence via any means possible. It thrives on useless thinking, and it feeds off the pain-body. The ego is what controls most of our lives, and it is who we *think* we are. This is not the case, ultimately.
" When you live through the mind-made self comprised of thought and emotion that is the ego, the basis for your identity is precarious because thought and emotion are by their very nature ephemeral, fleeting." (page 60, A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle)
Humanity is fleeting. Mind is fleeting. Thoughts and emotions are fleeting. The ego is fleeting. Being always exists in one form or another.
